Somewhere between the nine long months of pregnancy and five months postpartum - during the sleepless nights mixed with the beautiful chaos of new motherhood, I lost touch with the woman I was before I became a mom.
For a long time, I knew something was off. I didn't feel myself. Not one bit. I lost the confidence that came so naturally to me, my smile when I'd pass by a mirror, and whether or not I'd ever get those back again.
